Close Impact
Acrylic on Canvas
"Close Impact" suspends the moment of collision — not before, not after, but right then. The periwinkle arc doesn't define an orbit; it is the orbit itself, the gravitational path of something massive hurtling through space. At its center, fluorescent red explodes — not painted, but discharged. Neon yellow traces mark exit trajectories. The small red star in the upper left is either a warning or an echo — the viewer decides. Zerey works here on the scale of physics, not psychology. The canvas becomes atmosphere, the gesture becomes phenomenon.
